Autodesk® 3ds Max® Design 2010 software is a complete version of the award-winning Autodesk® 3ds Max® software—specifically tailored for architects, designers, engineers, and visualization specialists. Autodesk 3ds Max Design offers these professionals lighting simulation and analysis technology, as well as digital continuity with the AutoCAD®, Revit®, and Autodesk Inventor® product families.
Now, Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2010 introduces innovative new 3D design visualization tools for conceptual modeling and form finding, validating designs, and adding impact to final presentations.

350 new features and enhancements! Highlights include:
- The addition of render-like effects in the viewport display—such as soft shadowing, exposure control and ambient occlusion—offers near photo-real quality for fast decision making.
- A new Graphite modeling and texturing system, which introduces at least 100 new creative tools, helps designers explore and rapidly iterate their ideas.
- A real-time lighting analysis solution for validating the effect of direct lighting, along with the newly certified Exposure technology, helps users create more sustainable designs.
- An extensive library of particle effects and flickerless rendering improvements help users communicate design intent, bringing their story to life using the latest in game and film technology.
- Support for the new import and export functionality of subdivision surface geometry in AutoCAD 2010 with RealDWG. Architects and designers using 3ds Max Design to experiment with form making can bring their designs into Revit as a true solid by first converting the subdivision surfaces to a solid AutoCAD 2010. This new enhancement helps increase workflow efficiency by reducing data rework.

System Requirements
32-bit software requires a system with the following:
- Intel® Pentium® 4 or higher, AMD Athlon® 64 or higher, or AMD Opteron® processor
- 1 GB RAM (2 GB recommended)
- 2 GB hard disk space
- 1 GB swap space (2 GB recommended)
- Direct3D 10, Direct3D 9, or OpenGL-capable graphics card with minimum 128 MB RAM
- Three-button mouse with mouse driver software
- DVD-ROM drive
Note: Apple® computers based on Intel processors and running Microsoft operating systems are supported using Apple’s Boot Camp. Virtual machine environments are not currently supported.

64-bit software requires a system with the following:
- Intel EM64T, AMD Athlon 64 or higher, AMD Opteron processor
- 1 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
- 2 GB hard disk space
- 1 GB swap space (2 GB recommended)
- Direct3D 10, Direct3D 9, or OpenGL-capable graphics card with minimum 128 MB RAM
- Three-button mouse with mouse driver software
- DVD-ROM drive
