AutoCAD® Electrical software is the AutoCAD® software for electrical controls designers. Created for electrical control systems, AutoCAD Electrical design software includes all the functionality of AutoCAD plus a complete set of electrical CAD features. AutoCAD Electrical 2012 includes an enhanced library of standards and two new sets of library symbols to comply with both IEEE 315/315A and IEC-60617 standards. With support for international standards and comprehensive libraries of manufacturer content and symbols, AutoCAD Electrical helps you to easily create standards-based designs that comply with industry requirements and compete globally.

The specialized drafting features in AutoCAD Electrical software can save hours of design time. Users of AutoCAD Electrical 2012 can now copy information from a one-line component to a schematic component, which helps streamline the process of editing component information.

AutoCAD Electrical 2012 control design software makes it easier to assign a catalog value to a component. The component updates with related values from the catalog database. If these related values change later in the database, you can update the components with the new values. This capability updates many values such as Schematic parent pin list, Weblink, Textvalue, and Terminal properties, helping you save time and increase the accuracy of your designs.

AutoCAD Electrical software comes with more than 2,000 standards-based electrical schematic symbols. A simple, menu-driven system for inserting devices—including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic—enables you to quickly build standards-based electrical control designs by selecting frequently used devices from a menu. Symbol libraries include support for the AS, GB, IEC, JIC, and JIS standards.

AutoCAD Electrical also includes all the functionality of AutoCAD® software plus a comprehensive set of functions developed specifically for designing electrical control systems. Specialized features such as trim wire, copy and delete component or circuit, and scoot and align components make it much easier to create electrical drawings quickly.
