Autodesk Revit MEP 2012
Autodesk® Revit® MEP Building Information Modeling (BIM) software for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers supports more accurate and efficient building systems design projects from concept through construction.
Design building systems more accurately using coordinated, consistent information inherent in the intelligent Revit MEP model.
Analyze for efficiency with integrated analysis earlier in the process.
Keep documentation coordinated and consistent with parametric change management technology.
Deliver 3D models and documentation to support the building lifecycle.
Features
- Sloped Piping Sloped piping tools support enhanced productivity for piping design. Create pipe slope values and transfer from project to project for design efficiency. Define the rise over run and lay out your plumbing design more easily. Calculation is automatic and slope propagation is easier when you apply a slope to a run of multiple pipe selections through fittings. Tag invert elevations at the beginning or end of a pipe run, minimizing guesswork and manual calculations. Keep track of the current pipe elevation with dynamic on-screen tooltips while routing sloped piping. Connect between 2 points in space regardless of the slope required
- System Browser Enhancements Gain greater flexibility during design, and focus on the systems that are important to you with an enhanced system browser feature. Select to view only the system you are working on. For example, you can view only the electrical systems and hide mechanical and plumbing systems from view. Check to see if elements are fully connected and contributing to system load requirements for more accurate sizing. See the total electrical load, air flow, or pipe flow at any point within a system
- Enhanced Systems Create and name custom duct and piping system types. Access properties for graphical overrides such as color, line weight, and line patterns to objects within a specific system. Assign objects to systems without needing to connect to system equipment. Annotate system geometry with a system abbreviation. Limit or turn off system calculations when not required
- Duct & Pipe Placeholders Enhance design intent even from the earliest stages with placeholder objects for ducts and pipes. Use placeholders to determine location of duct or pipe runs prior to finalizing your designs. Easily convert placeholders to more detailed objects with fittings, and size the run once your design is finalized
- Duct & Pipe Insulation & Lining Using a single command, add insulation to entire duct and pipe runs. For even greater detail, add lining to duct. Include important design details with a single command and then perform interference checking on the insulation to avoid conflicts with other systems or structural and architectural objects. Automatically adjust duct sizes when you’re sizing ducts that include lining
- Panel Schedules Work dynamically and experience greater flexibility by displaying panel schedule totals in current or load values. Merge multi-poled slots into a single cell. Display load classification totals for individual circuits
- Point Clouds Revit Point Cloud tools connect laser scans directly into the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process, helping to accelerate renovation and retrofit projects. By visualizing point clouds directly within the Revit MEP software environment, it’s easier to author an as-built building information model with more confidence and accuracy
- Conceptual Energy Analysis Conceptual Energy Analysis tools* support sustainable design decision-making during early design. Using cloud-based analysis tools, you can compare the energy consumption and lifecycle costs of design alternatives within Revit MEP software. Analysis results are presented in a highly-visual, graphical format for easier interpretation
- Revit Server Revit Server helps project teams in different locations to more easily collaborate on shared Revit® models across a wide-area network (WAN) with the speed of a local-area network (LAN). Better maintain an integrated collection of Revit-central models on a single central server that can be accessed from local servers. Built-in redundancy supports protection in case of WAN connectivity loss
